Two books that shaped how the model was built. Neither is a betting book, and neither will tell you who wins. They are about the same harder problem: making decisions when all you get is probabilities, and judging your own reasoning honestly when the outcome does not cooperate.

Annie Duke

The one book that maps most directly onto what NexGame Lite does. Duke was a professional poker player before she wrote about decision science, and her core argument is that a good decision and a good outcome are different things — you can be right and lose, wrong and win, and confusing the two is how people learn nothing from years of results.

This is why the accuracy dashboard settles automatically instead of letting me pick which results to show. Resulting is her word for grading a decision by its outcome, and it is the failure mode this entire product is built to avoid.

Nate Silver

The best plain-language explanation of calibration I know of — the idea that a forecast saying seventy percent should be right about seventy percent of the time, and that this is testable. The chapter on why weather forecasters are among the few genuinely well-calibrated professionals is worth the book on its own.

If you want to understand why the confidence tiers on the dashboard matter more than the headline hit rate, this is the argument.

I'm not an investment adviser and this isn't advice. I build a simulation tool for sports outcomes. I'm not registered in any capacity to tell you what to do with your money, and nothing on this page is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything.

Being paid is not the reason a platform is listed. But you shouldn't have to take that on faith, which is why the unpaid section exists and why the paid ones say what's wrong with them as well as what's good.
